Thing 12 - Rollyo

I'm not so sure I would ever use this. I guess if I was away from my personal computer where I have my favorite sites saved it would be useful. I created a healthy eating search tool and added a few of my favorite sites for recipes, especially those that are low fat, low calorie, but still delicious. I'm beginning to think that to use all of these new tools, I'm going to have to carry my 23 Things password list with me.

Thing 11 - Library Thing

This was great. I spend a lot of time looking for good books on the public library website. I lke this because I could check out title others have enjoyed and get info on new titles. It's very addicting to someone who loves to read. I kept going from one link to another, and got quite a list to check out when I go to the public library. This is definately something I will use over and over.

Thing 10 - Image Generators

I had a lot of fun with this one! In the movie moment, I tried to replace a face with one from my family, but it's difficult to get it to fit just right. The picture I used wasn't quite straight on, so when I pased it on, it was kind of off centered. It was really funny! I also created a couple of sweaters and t shirts from the t shirt maker. I created an avatar of myself they way I think I look and dress most often - in jeans and sweatshirt, but I wasn't able to copy it here. Don't know what I am doing wrong, but will try again later. YES!! I finally figured it out. I just love it when that happens.

Thing 9 - Library Related Blogs

I checked out Merlin briefly, but most did not apply to me. Instead, I added some library related blogs, including the public library site. I read some of John's blogs, and added delicious as one of my accounts. I also added School Library Journal and NYT book reviews.

Thing 8 - RSS Feeds

Once again, I've had a long layoff, so it took a while getting back in the swing. Once I set up my account on Bloglines, it was really quite simple to add some RSS feeds. Of course, I added Orioles and WVU sites. I need to keep up with my favorite teams.

Thing 6 and 7 - More fun with Flickr

My son, the Atlanta Brave fan since birth, took this picture at Camden Yards to taunt his college roommates who are big Pirates fans.
Some of these sites look like they have lots of potential for classroom use, especially for special projects. The trick is to remember how to use them when I need to. I think that will be my problem - just remembering how to use this technology. I just comleted a computer workshop with John and Jill, and my activity was creating a baseball card. I did it using Publisher, but this one might be better.

Thing 5 Flickr

I'm back to 23 Things after a long layoff. I've forgotten everything I learned about posting to Blogspot, but I did register at Flickr and downloaded some pictures I took at Camden Yards. Flickr was not as difficult as i thought it would be. As I was downloading pictures, I was reminded of the commerical on TV about which picture would be deleted next.
After playing around with the Blogspot, I figured out how to upload one of my pictures from Flickr! I'm so proud of myself!
